Trust [Fable]
Gooooood evening! I’ve written this fable for school! Here it is! I’m happy to share it 😄
Trust
Once a young sheep decided to run away from her shepherd. It ran until it found a wolf. The wolf was hungry and he wanted to eat her, but he made a cunning plan. The sheep went to the wolf and asked, “Hello sir, have you seen great land with grasses so green and tasty?” the wolf smiled in the friendliest way possible. He answered, “Yes, but I know two places of beautiful green grass.” The sheep became enlightened when she heard what the wolf said. The wolf brought the sheep far away from the shepherd. He left for a while to think about his plan, when a dove flew to the unknowing young sheep. “Hey! You there!” It called to the sheep. “What are you doing there?” The sheep answered, “The kind sir is going to lead me to a nice place of green grass!” The dove frowned. “He won’t help you, he will eat you when he convinces you! Leave now, I will lead you back to your shepherd.” The sheep thought about what the dove said. Just then, the wolf came back. “Well, let’s go!” The wolf walked away with the sheep. The dove was very worried. She flew silently behind them.A bit later, the sheep arrived at a beautiful place. The grasses looked so tasty and the sheep immediately ate a lot of grass until she became full. She lay under a tree, resting. The wolf left to find food. The dove, once again, flew to the sheep and told it, “You need to leave now! I will bring you into another safer place for food! The wolf, I’m telling you, is going to eat you! You shouldn’t trust him!” The sheep refused the dove. The next days, the sheep was given tasty grass by the cunning wolf. The dove would always call to the sheep but the sheep would just say, “Just like yesterday, I got food, so tomorrow, I’ll get food too!” One day, the wolf took the sheep to a rocky mountain. The dove was still watching them. The wolf pounced on the sheep, but it slipped through a small crack. The sheep saw the wolf’s snout trying to lick and eat her, and so she got scared and ran out. The dove called her friend, a fox, to help. The wolf began to chase the sheep. The fox arrived and twisted and turned its direction to distract the wolf. The dove led the sheep to the shepherd. The shepherd was very happy to see the sheep. At night, the dove visited the sheep. “Well… after all, you saved my life! Thank you so much, and I should’ve followed you, miss!” The sheep was happy. “I’ve told you many times and that made me worry about you. I’ve seen him trick many, but the most important thing is that you’re safe and sound once more. Next time, be sure to know who you trust!” Days later, the wolf would try to trick anyone it would see, but the story of the sheep spread throughout the neighborhood. The wolf, hungry, left far away from the neighborhood of the sheep. The sheep was happy, and she became great friends with the dove!
Lesson: Be careful in who you trust.
